A Friend

He was large in stature

And a giant in heart

With compassion and integrity

That one could never tear apart

An only child who cherished each friend

And he was loyal to the bitten end

With principles and values he would never bend

He possessed a vast knowledge of medicine

And cured many patients’ infirmities

With unblemished care and adherence to the venerated oath of Hippocrates

A loving husband and a nurturing father

Who put his family before any other

His extended family was limitless

With colleagues and friends too many to assess

God blessed him with a wonderful wife

Without question she was the love of his life

For his adoring children that numbered five

He set an example for them to strive

A more religious man would be hard to find

With an adherent advocacy for peace in mankind

For the clergy planted him a prolific seed

His Catholic education he valued indeed

For his family and friends he would try to please

But never abandon his morals to appease

Undeniably generous to everyone he knew

A charitable soul through and through

He was a great loss to the world indeed

And to many a heart that would surely bleed

But home he has gone to his Father in heaven

So let us pray together that we may see him again

Poem written in tribute to Dr. Lawrence Pazourek
